Samantha Pearce from Hamilton, Colorado

Colorado Junior Winner, 2014

5th Place National Winner, 2014

Samantha is a Moffat County Native and very proud of it. Her entry piece was unique; it was Moffat County created from beginning to end. The wool came from sheep produced in [Moffat County] at the Wellman Ranch. It was then taken to Lorrae Moon’s “Fiber Works” wool mill where Samantha helped to clean, dye and spin the wool into yarn. Next, Susan Domer, a local artisan, let Samantha learn another valuable skill. She took the yarn and let Samantha help weave it into yards of fabric. Samantha then took the lilac colored fabric and constructed it into the simple, elegant sheath dress she had entered into the competition.
